Refund Policy
For Samuel is operated by Kin Tho (ABN 37 320 140 514), Australia. All subscription payments for For Samuel are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — we never hold your card details and cannot charge you directly.
The quickest route: your app store
Because Apple and Google process all payments, they can also action most refunds fastest:
- Apple App Store: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple account you subscribed with.
- Google Play: request a refund from your Google Play order history, or at support.google.com/googleplay — Google generally handles requests made within 48 hours directly; later requests are referred to the developer (us).
Your statutory rights — Australia
If you are in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law applies to your subscription and your rights against us do not depend on Apple's or Google's refund decisions. Our paid features come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded — including that they are fit for purpose, of acceptable quality, and match their description.
- If a paid feature has a major failure (it doesn't work, can't reasonably be fixed, or you would not have subscribed had you known), you can choose a refund of the unused portion or, in some cases, the full amount paid.
- If the failure is minor, we can choose to fix it within a reasonable time; if we don't, you can ask for a refund.
- Contact us directly at hello@forsamuel.com.au with the email on your account, which subscription you hold, which store you subscribed through, and what went wrong. We aim to reply as soon as we can. If a refund is due and we cannot action it through the store's developer tools, we will arrange it with you directly.
- Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Your statutory rights — United Kingdom
If you are in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights when digital content is faulty: you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that fails or isn't possible, to a price reduction (which can be up to the full amount paid). If our app damages your device or other digital content because we failed to use reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to compensation. Contact us as above; you may also use the store refund routes.
Your statutory rights — New Zealand
If you are in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies. Paid features must be of acceptable quality and fit for purpose; if they are not, you have remedies against us as the supplier — including a refund for a failure of substantial character. Contact us as above.
United States and Canada
Refunds are handled under Apple's and Google's refund policies (links above). Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you have under your state or provincial consumer protection law. If a store refund request is refused and you believe a paid feature genuinely failed, contact us — we review these case by case.
Situations covered elsewhere
- Founder Launch introductory trial: if your subscription is still inside a store-native introductory trial, no subscription charge has been taken yet. Cancel through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings before the trial ends to avoid renewal. The subscription and renewal terms are described in Terms of Service section 5A.
- Change of mind: we don't offer change-of-mind refunds ourselves; Apple and Google sometimes do under their own policies (links above). Statutory rights above are unaffected.
- If we discontinue the App or a subscription product: the notice periods and refund handling in Terms of Service section 8 apply.
- Cancelling: cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current period — manage subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. What continues to work after a lapse is described in Terms of Service section 5.
